On October 15, 2013, Rhino Records released the Eric Clapton Unplugged Reissue CD and DVD box set.
The extended and remastered release includes two CDs and a DVD of his full MTV Unplugged performances, along with previously unreleased rehearsal footage that every fan of Clapton, and his acoustic guitar work, will no doubt enjoy.
Clapton’s Unplugged was recorded live at Bray Film Studios in Windsor, England and was released back in August of ’92.
Though known for his groundbreaking electric guitar work with the Yardbirds, Cream, Derek and the Dominos, as well as recordings under his own name, Clapton’s Unplugged performance is considered by many to be one of the most successful and acclaimed concert from the MTV series.
Quickly becoming a massive hit across the globe, Clapton’s Unplugged sold over 19 million copies and went on to win 6 Grammy awards, including Record of the Year and Album of Year.
The new reissue will feature a few songs that were not included on the original album, such as “My Father’s Eyes,” an exciting cover of Big Maceo Merriweather’s “Worried Life Blues,” and an alternate version of “Walkin’ Blues.”
